Vineyards in Provence are spoilt by nature, with the climate and soil conditions ideally suited to producing a huge variety of wines. The main “appellations d’origine controlée” (AOC – the government certification which guarantees quality) produce excellents results: Cinsault, Mourvèdre, Grenache, Tibouren, Syrah, Cabernet-Sauvignon for the reds and rosés. Clairette, ‘Ugni-Blanc, Rolle and Semillon for the whites.
