Châteauneuf-du-Pape Pure 2009

Dense and extracted, but stays very pure, with the essence of raspberry and black cherry fruit coursing along, buttressed by ganache, shiso leaf and Lapsang souchong tea notes. The long finish picks up extra espresso-tinged grip. One of the largerscaled wines of the vintage. Best from 2015 through 2035. From France – J.M

Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Réservée 2009

Dark and dense, with stunning espresso, warm ganache and roasted plum aromas giving way to layers of black currant, braised fig and licorice root. The long, grip-filled finish is framed by a strong roasted mesquite edge and a lingering note of brick dust. A wild wine, with loads going on. Just needs cellaring to round into form. Best from 2015 through 2030. From France – J.M

Pegau Chateauneuf Vintage Release

Regarded as the leading domaine for traditionally styled, age-worthy Châteauneuf-du-Pape in this large and prestigious appellation.
Domaine du Pegau is now run by Laurence Feraud who also makes the wines, Pegau’s vineyards consist of 11 parcels totalling 19 hectares among Châteauneuf’s best ‘terroirs’ including in ‘La Crau’.
The wine is then aged for a minimum of 18 months in old oak ‘foudres’ (large oval barrels), which are assembled together before bottling (without filtration) to obtain the uniform quality of the largest Cuvee called ‘Cuvée Réservée’.

Colin-Morey 2009 Vintage Release

Established as one of the young rising stars of Burgundy, Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey in 2005 left his family Domaine, Marc Colin, where he gained a solid reputation for his outstanding white wines. Pierre-Yves took control of a share of the family vineyards (Domaine Marc Colin) from 2006 vintage. His first vintages have been made from vineyards and growers that he works closely with buying the wine as must and aging the wines in barrels which he has supplied. If the resulting wines meet his standards the barrels of wine purchased are then matured in his own cold cellar below his house in Chassagne Montrachet. These wines are produced with natural yeasts, no lees stirring and no filtration that are built to age classically up to 10 years or more.
